Part 2 of the ankle injury that would likely sideline Steelers player Pickett for a few weeks

During halftime, play resumed after a significant rain delay; Pickett spent the remainder of the second quarter in the locker room after being assessed in the blue sideline medical tent; he was later declared out.

A walking boot was placed on Pickett's right ankle as he subsequently made his way back to the sidelines. While playing against the Cincinnati Bengals, he had stiffness in his right ankle, which he carried into this game.

Soon after Pickett was hurt, Trubisky entered the game for a fourth-and-goal opportunity with the ball down at the 1. Najee Harris, rushing back for the Steelers, was stopped short of the goal line, and they were unable to score. The Cardinals extended their advantage to 10-3 at halftime with a 99-yard touchdown drive.

"It was a significant point in the game when we got stopped in the red zone and then they drove the ball there before the half, but that doesn't tell the story to the game, man." Tomlin spoke. At any point throughout the game, we were simply not good enough. Our performance today was lacking.

Two more games have ended early for Pickett this season due to injury. Pickett suffered a bone bruise late in the third quarter of the Steelers' Week 4 defeat to the Houston Texans and a rib injury before halftime of the Week 8 loss to the Jaguars. Each game, Trubisky finished for the Steelers. Trubisky completed 18-of-32 passes for 156 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the two games.

Trubisky scored late in the fourth quarter against the Cardinals with a two-yard touchdown to Diontae Johnson after a 75-yard drive. Two plays earlier, Trubisky connected with Johnson for 26 yards.

Trubisky added, "We went down, we finished in the red zone." "The boys persevere. When things got messy, everyone stuck together. After assembling, we added points. I think you look at that drive and take positives.

In addition to Pickett's knockout, the Steelers lost two more players in the first half: inside linebacker Elandon Roberts with a groin injury and guard Isaac Seumalo with a shoulder injury.

After trading for former Falcons linebacker Mykal Walker, who played 98.6% of defensive snaps against the Cardinals, the Steelers added Myles Jack to the practice squad, ending his temporary retirement.
