Davis scores 27 points and 14 rebounds as Lakers beat Rockets 107-97 to end road winless.

LA (AP)—[ Los Angeles Lakers beat Houston 107-97 on Saturday with 27 points and 14 rebounds from Anthony Davis, leaving the Rockets winless on the road. Austin Reaves had 18 bench points while LeBron James got 16 points and 7 assists.

Rockets lost their third straight and went 0-8 away from home with Fred VanVleet scoring 22 and Alperen Sengun scoring 21 and 13 rebounds.

We had some chat and they didn't like what they heard,” Udoka said of the referees. The Lakers owned the paint 54-34 and outscored Houston's reserves 33-24.

When Davis missed his first six shots and Houston shot 60% in the second quarter, the Lakers took command. The Lakers lead 58-40 after Reaves scored 15 points, his career high, and Davis added eight points in a 29-4 quarter. Houston was down 60-44 after six VanVleet points.

“That was one of our best quarters this year, especially the first half. The first half hasn't been our strength, James remarked.

“Defending, getting out, sharing the ball, moving the ball, and A.R. was special in the second.”

The Lakers had Rui Hachimura on their roster, but he sat out for a week following nose surgery.

The only thing that hurts him, according to coach Darvin Ham, is his nose.
