"I'm just upset at myself" after fourth-quarter interception: Joe Flacco

Joe Flacco made his Browns debut on Sunday, mainly playing well against the Rams. The Week 13 defeat hinged on Flacco's one error.

The ball was back down by a point for Cleveland with 6:51 left. On the opening play of the drive, Flacco threw a long throw to Elijah Moore that safety John Johnson intercepted.

Rams scored a touchdown five plays later, and Browns had no reaction. Flacco was asked after the game whether his performance more encouraged him or the interception disturbed him.

Flacco remarked in his news conference, “Yeah, I'm just upset at myself.” I know I can play. Every time you on the field, you're proving to yourself and others that you can play, but I know I can, so that's not my mental process.

“I'm disappointed in myself, and I love these games. That fourth quarter will be ugly and tight. Tight games that require smart judgments suit me. Not coming through in that circumstance hurts.”

Flacco finished 23-of-44 for 254 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He started well, throwing a 24-yard score to running back Jerome Ford to start the Browns' offense.

The Browns will be the AFC's No. 6 seed in Week 14. After losing both games on a road trip out West, Cleveland must win to be in the postseason hunt. Flacco believes the Browns can reach the playoffs.

“I think you've seen them all year. The team is resilient and talented, Flacco added. Immediately, you can tell this is one of the best teams I've played on.
